Code of Ethics

  • Shall carry out their duties and obligations  with  honesty, integrity and objectivity.
  • Shall be committed to nonviolence and  be pro-active in their  dedication to the prevention and elimination of violence against women and children.
  • Shall ensure that outside interests do not jeopardize their judgment about their role as advocates.
  • Shall maintain confidentiality of all acquired information except in the case of mandatory reporting by law.
  • Shall  act in a manner that  promotes the safety and well-being of women and children.
  • Shall be committed to working from a feminist perspective promoting the empowerment of women.
  • Shall  respect and support each woman’s right to self-determination and autonomy.
  • Shall  provide services without prejudices or discrimination  irrespective of social status, racial, cultural or religious beliefs, class, sexual orientation, disability and/or  health status.
  • Shall ensure that their own personal belief system does not interfere with the women’s right to choose.
  • Shall not exploit any relationship with clients/ Co-workers/Board members  for personal gain.
